Immortals
Thud Thud. Thud Thud. Thud Thud. Whether it was the sound of my feet or of my fast heart beat it was the same. The moon was rising in the sky and I was running ready to get the vision of this moon’s time. As I ran a stumbled slightly over some roots that the trees produced, but I found my feet again and I kept running. I ran until I was out of breath. Then I ran some more. I was late for the Moon Meeting, where we all have to meet lest we die.

I pulled into the Wal-Mart parking lot with the CD in my hand. “Beethoven At His Finest,” it read, but it didn’t mean it. I knew that for sure. The Eagle.
I looked down to the ground below. Many were gathering, almost too many. I pushed downward on the air below me and sprung up. Then I quickly went down in a miraculous dive. They came closer to me while I went my fastest. I noticed me speed and how fast Mother Earth was coming up to greet me so I leaned back and stretched my wondrous wings.
